Riverside Retreat

A warm, comfortable home with a very well-equipped kitchen.

We enjoyed our stay. Comfortable, clean and quiet.

The place was cute looking, but the furniture and the beds were very uncomfortable. Was offered a “deal“ and then charged an extra amount of money that was not part of the original agreement.

We loved our time here! The location was great, super quiet neighborhood and exactly as described. The host team was awesome, super quick to reply to messages! The kitchen amenities were a little lacking so if you’re looking to cook you just have to get creative. We’ll definitely be back!

First the good : quiet place, somewhat on the beach, somewhat new and equipped. Now The bad : 1. mattress in the master is beyond uncomfortable. 2. Host communicated quick but not with anything helpful. We asked about the type of crib a week before our flight and Sean said he’ll let us know. Didn’t hear back for a week so We asked again a day before flight and he said he’ll let us know again. We got the info while flying to Boston which was too late. Our power also went out on the 3rd night and instead of providing solution ( alternative heat source) he just provided “ breaking news” that it’s the whole island. 3. The ONLY heat source is electric so when our power went out at 43 degree we were left with no other option. I aspected some sort of “ let me know if the power doesn’t come up and we can accommodate other option” response but Sean seem to be indifferent that we had no heat source. Most houses around us seem to have generators .

The home was the quintessential beach home. It was comfortable, clean and in good location for our needs. Would stay again!

Good choice. Right price! The Riverside Retreat on Plum Island Checked all the boxes for us. We were townies way back when, but moved away over 40 years ago 😱. This cottage provided us a wonderful home base to reconnect with the area, friends and family. We went in October so did not take advantage of the side porch with the grill and outdoor shower, but imagine they are great features in the summer. What we did love 🦀🐬⭐️: - [ ] A clean, comfy home - [ ] Spacious rooms - [ ] Comfy beds, blankets and throws - [ ] Many well working conveniences (dishwasher, stove, washer/dryer, large refrigerator) - [ ] Hot water and pressure in the shower :) - [ ] Front sitting porch where we enjoyed watching wild bunnies hop about - [ ] Parking for 3 made it easy to have family and friends visit - [ ] We like cards, but also checked out some games from the cabinet - [ ] Peaceful decore Thank you Sean! This was my first time visiting MA, and my first time using the AirBnB app. Sean was an excellent host who stayed in contact throughout the trip for any questions or concerns I had. The place was beautiful and as described. Would love to schedule a return visit.

Great pet-friendly find near Plum Beach. We had some trouble with the lock getting into the house, but Sean and his team were very responsive and we quickly sorted out a solution. Place was spotless and a nice size, had all listed amenities and was a real cozy getaway. Would definitely go back!

Perfect private location, close enough to walk to some restaurants and a short drive to Newburyport, shopping, beaches. The house has everything we needed to stay and cook comfortably. Our dog loved the space as well. Would definitely stay again.

Great place...clean..close to everything

We had a great time at this pretty little, but still spacious cottage. Perfect get away for a long weekend. My husband and I slept on couch and sleeper sofa, it was perfectly fine and comfortable. Our kids got the two bedrooms. I’m a pretty picky person, and I thought the house was clean and comfortable, nice and new. My only criticism of this house was the lack of a few extra sets of utensils and mugs, it was geared more towards 4 people, we were 6. Had I planned better, I’d have brought a few extra towels and such. The host was super responsive, helpful and friendly, I’d love to come back and stay again.

Beautiful house and location! The pictures do not do the house justice, it is very spacious and nice. The new kitchen is very nice as well. It is close to downtown, the beach, and some local food joints. Will definitely be coming back!

Great place!

Beautiful home in a quaint spot ! Sean very helpful and responsive. Made it known that he would be available if we needed anything. While the home was clean overall, we did find many pet hairs around, and we were not traveling with any pets. There was no split in the bunk bed room so it was a bit chilly at night in April, but there were many extra warm blankets available. Stayed with our 3 kids - would come again!

The house was so cute! The location could not be better.

My family had a great stay at the Riverside Retreat. The beach house was so charming and clean. The host has very helpful and kind. We were very close to all the delights of Newburyport and I’m so glad we stopped into Mad Martha’s on Plum Island (very close to the rental) for a delicious breakfast. We’d love to come back again to keep exploring. Thank you for having us!

Amazing house in a quiet little area. Great restaurants near by, beautiful scenery. Sean was amazing.

My family and I stayed at Sean’s place for an extended weekend gateway in the fall. We had a lovely time, the house was beautifully decorated and very clean. Plenty of space and amenities within the house. Located close to Newburyport we would highly recommend this place to everyone.

House: This place was a dream! The house was extremely clean and well decorated- just like the pictures. There are two outdoor spaces: one set of lounge furniture out front, and an outdoor dining table on the side. The side patio is nice and private, and we really enjoyed spending time outside during our stay. The ACs were nice and powerful. My favorite part was the outdoor shower! Experience: Very quick communication + easy instructions. Location: Amazing location <5 min drive from Plum Island Beach and 10 min from downtown Newburyport. You can easily walk from the Airbnb to Sunset Club, a popular beach bar named for its amazing evening views. You could probably also walk to the beach, but it would be about 20 min- too far for us with beach equipment. We parked in front of the beach each day for $30 (weekend rate). Overall: BEAUTIFUL home, highly recommend!

A well appointed, all around comfortable and appropriately decorated space. The cottage felt freshly painted with just enough in the kitchen and new linens. We loved the outdoor shower, generous parking for three cars and the sweet little yard. A quiet friendly neighborhood rounded out the pluses.

Lovely house! It is an expensive area but if you spend any time in Plum Island you will see why... what a magical place. The house was a great size for a small family although it was just the two of us for our stay. Loved the patio, yard, and outdoor shower which I didn't even notice in the listing but was a lovely surprise. Very close to the beach and to convenience stores/restaurants. A great little impromptu getaway! Thank you for hosting us!

Had a great 2 night stay at Sean's place with my wife and I. First time to Plum Island. We will be back. Home was warm, bright, clean and welcoming. KIng bed was very comfortable.

I would highly recommend this lovely cottage. It is in a great location, quite area of the island, and walkable to all restaurants and the beach. The cottage itself is clean, quaint and has everything you need. Sean is very responsive with any questions that you may have about any issues. A great vacation spot.
